Our Sports’ Ambassadors

At the beginning of Year 6, children apply for roles and responsibilities within the school: one being a Sports Ambassador. The  class teacher selects four pupils that he/she thinks have demonstrated our 'Ditton Lodge High 5' values and have shown that they are committed towards promoting healthy active lifestyles , showing good sportsmanship and being an excellent role model who can inspire and encourage the pupils at Ditton Lodge.

Our Sports Ambassadors support staff  by helping out at lunchtimes or after school clubs which mean the less confident children flourish  with the support of a leader.  This encourages the less confident children to also develop their self-esteem and build positive relationships with children  from upper Key Stage 2.

Working alongside Ditton Lodge School Council, the Sport's Ambassadors represent the voice of the young people in our school. They organise questionnaires and charitable events. This year the current leaders helped launch the 'Daily Active Mile' to increase the whole school’s physical activity.

Finally, the Sports Ambassadors promote pupils’ wellbeing.  They celebrate our success and fair play by handing out competition certificates and other sporting awards in our whole school assemblies.

In 2019/2020 we were very proud to receive 'School of the Year’ from Living Sport’s Awards and the Platinum Award in the 'School Games Mark'. This is because at Ditton Lodge we believe that Together, we succeed as lifelong learners.
