What is your favourite book and why?

I grew up with Roald Dahl books. My favourite book was Matilda as a child and is still to this day.  I am always amazed by Matilda’s ability to read grown up books and to recite her times tables aged 5.  I admire Miss Honey with her kindness and patience.  My own children love Matilda too and last year we thoroughly enjoyed seeing Matilda come to life on the stage. 

What is your favourite memory from school?

I loved my experiences at both Primary and Secondary school.  My friends and my teachers made it for me.  I will always remember our Year 6 residential trip to Wales.  I was anxious about being away from home, but thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie in our room and the walking and fresh air in the beautiful surroundings.  On the last day, it was my 11th birthday and I awoke up to balloons and cards from my friends. I’m still in touch with my friends from Primary school which shows our special friendship

What is your most inspirational quote?

I am a very positive person and love to smile.  I surround myself with happy people and that’s why I enjoy working in a school setting so much.  My class make me smile every day.  I am inspired by a Roald Dahl quote:  ‘If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely’.

What is your favourite book and why? 

As a child I remember reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis and being completely captivated by the mythical creatures and magical land of Narnia. I went on to read the other six books in the series which make up The Chronicles of Narnia. The books present the exciting adventures of four children who learn of their destiny to free Narnia, a place where creatures talk, magic is common and good battles with evil! Having read these books over and over again I would really recommend them to you! 

What is your favourite memory from school? 

My memories of primary school are really happy, making daisy chains on the school field, playing in the girl’s football team, singing in the choir and photography club! My favourite teacher was Mr Haniford, he was kind, funny and always had time for me. I hope that I will leave the children I teach with the same happy memories.
