Enrichment is very important to us at Ditton Lodge. Every child has the right to develop their talents and abilities (Article 20: Rights Respecting Convention).
Every Tuesday, we ask our pupils to stay at school until 4pm to do enrichment. The children get to choose an activity that they would like to do. Examples include Science, Lego, Art, Yoga, German, Tennis, Cooking and much, much more!
Teachers in the school lead these clubs giving them the opportunity to share their passions and get to know new children. Over 90% of our children participate in this – ensuring inclusivity for all. The children change activity each half-term.
Over the year, we provide enrichment days to further develop our community and sense of belonging alongside providing new opportunities. In 2024-25, we completed Street Dance, BMXing, Karate, Freestyle Footballing, Willow Art, Box to be Fit and had a visiting Circus in. Every year we go to the local Panto in December. In 2025-26, our focus is on the Arts including Music, Drama, Dance and Art.
Every class completes a school visit throughout the year linked to their curriculum coverage.
